Additionally, their legacy Managed Service Provider (MSP) added layers of complexity to the application portfolio from years of ad hoc break-fixes and customizations to reporting, transportation, and distribution systems. Parsing business processes together in different SAP environments along with very little documentation led to inefficiencies, mounting technical debt, and risks for outages and cost overruns. Fortunately, their CIO and business leadership had a clear vision on how they wanted to become fully integrated from farm to table.

After addressing the skills gaps, GSIT consultants supported a phased approach to upskill and transfer greater responsibilities to in-house personnel, so the client stakeholders were equipped with greater hands-on knowledge of SAP, root-cause impacts to business process, and where to employ greater project management discipline.
Wielding upgraded skills and project discipline, the client was ready to execute their integration roadmap which included an S/4HANA implementation. During their implementation, the client identified knowledge and project delivery gaps between in-house staffers and the system integrator.
